Adecco: Medical Technologist


This is a Full-time position in Hebron, CT posted July 31, 2020.

Job DescriptionA Medical Technologist position is now available through Adecco Medical & Science.

This is a fulltime, contract position starting ASAP.

There are 1st and 2nd hour/shifts available.

In this role you will perform routine lab tests under the guidance of certified Clinical Scientists and the Laboratory Supervisors.

Medical Technologists will also assist in various laboratory duties as needed.

This role will directly impact the health and safety of the entire company!

Job responsibilities: Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures Review and release test results Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, conduct instrument and procedural calibrations and all required maintenance Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor Maintain complete records of all testing performed on-site Make sure test kits have received dates, expiration dates, and if applicable opened dates.

The position requires shift work which may involve weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

The clinic is a 24/7 operation.

Basic Qualifications: 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology BS/BA degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field Knowledge and practice of standard precautions policies related to handling of potentially infectious agents Knowledge of safety procedures relating to operation of laboratory equipment and handling of chemicals Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communication Must be available to work at different times of the day, night, weekends, share holidays and standby duty.

Should be able to adapt to unexpected schedule changes and respond to emergency situation Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years previous experience in clinical laboratory setting or acute care facility American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
