We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the nation’s largest provider of healthcare services as a Wound Care Clinical Nurse Coordinator. Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Rose Medical Center. The Wound Care CNS oversees, directs, and supports the wound care treatment plan for patients in the inpatient setting. The Wound Care CNS coordinates with ancillary services, physicians, and bedside staff to optimize care. Responsible for direct patient care, including planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Colorado Nurse Practice Act, Physician Orders, recognized nursing techniques and policies, procedures, established clinical competencies based on wound care protocols. The Wound Care CNS is responsible to manage, support, and track the quality outcomes of patients seen by the Wound Care service. The CNS demonstrates critical thinking and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. Responsible for meeting the clinical competencies set forth by RMC. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Position Requirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Experience: Minimum of two years acute care; ambulatory care highly desirable. Wound care experience in out-patient or in-patient setting preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Provide courteous, positive and professional image. Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills. Ability to work with staff in wound care and with other departments, ability to problem solve and handle multiple priorities. Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice including, but not limited to, asepsis and sterile technique, principles of body mechanics, and medication administration. Knowledge of learning principles for all ages and the ability to teach and develop an effective patient education program. Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols with the appropriate time frames. Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication. Works well with others in a spirit of cooperation. Maintains education and development appropriate for the position. Adheres to established hospital and departmental guidelines and protocols. Supports hospital mission, vision and values. Performs position-specific job functions at an acceptable level. Degree of Supervision Required: Involves general guidance and direction. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. IV. Orientation Period: 90 Days
