POSITION:
The Al & Malka Green Artists’ Health Centre is located at Toronto Western Hospital. The Centre offers both complementary/alternative and conventional health care to professional creative and performing artists, and to students and staff at post-secondary arts institutions. The Centre’s mandate includes research, education, and outreach to the arts community.
The specialized expertise of our practitioners focuses on the specific health care issues and needs of artists, with a view to providing a holistic approach to health within an evidence-based framework. The knowledge acquired through the AHC will benefit not only artists in the Toronto area, but also those across Canada and internationally through e-health communications and research.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Coordinator/Health Promoter performs managerial responsibilities that ensure the overall operational effectiveness of the Artists’ Health Centre and Chiropody Clinic. This includes overseeing all the related activities for the Centre, supervision of the staff, reporting and analysis of data, financial tracking/reconciliation, and ensuring effective patient flow. You will carry out program development by facilitating health promotion and wellness education planning and implementation activities; participate in skills and capacity building activities; participate in research and evaluation techniques; provide consumer-oriented health information and reference service to clients using print and electronic resources; participate in academic forums; and act as a champion for integration of conventional and complementary/alternative therapies.
