Medical Assistant I Certified – Chatham County Rdc

This is a Contract position in Stem, NC posted July 19, 2020.

UNC Health seeks to hire multiple Medical Assistant, I Certified candidates to support our Covid response in the Respiratory Diagnostic Centers in Chatham County.

Candidates will be primarily assigned to one location in Siler City but should prepare for the possibility to assist at other locations in response to patient need.

Hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am to 5 pm.

The Medical Assistant I Certified provides routine clinical and administrative support to providers and other health care team members in an outpatient clinic setting.

The Medical Assistant I Certified works under the clinical supervision of the provider for patient care activities, and under the general direction of the designated manager/supervisor for non-clinical responsibilities.

Collects patient and family data, including medical and social history.

Reviews patient €™s current medication list, allergies and preferred pharmacy.

Assists the provider as directed, during treatments, examinations and procedures.

Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.

Administers medications under the direction of a provider.

Performs tests, for examples EKG, eye exams, under the direction of a provider.

Ensures exam/procedure room contains appropriate supplies, equipment, forms and educational materials are available and ready for use during visit/procedure.

Provides patient with after-visit, follow-up, self-care or procedural instructions and/or educational materials as directed.

Prepares, cleans, stocks and maintains exam and treatment rooms.

Assists in emergency situations as directed by a provider or nurse.
