SALARY:               $29.88 – $37.35 per hour
STATUS:               Temporary Part-Time (approx. 12 months)

The primary focus of the Medication Reimbursement Specialist is to facilitate and coordinate the submission of application forms for access to compassionate programs for  patients . This job will serve as the centralized point of contact for physicians, nurses, social workers and pharmacists, and, will be actively involved with government, community based and private agencies that provide compassionate assistance for medications. He/she will serve as an advisor to health care providers regarding medication access and reimbursement of compassionate products.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

• At minimum, completion of a two year community college program in an Allied Health related discipline or recognized equivalent required
• At minimum, 2 years practical and related experience in a general outpatient or inpatient related setting
• Pharmacy assistant experience preferred
• Knowledge and experience with public and private medication access/reimbursement programs and relevant agencies
• Knowledge in oncology medications an asset
• Knowledge in specialty drugs (eg. hepatology, solid organ transplant, antimicrobials, pulmonary hypertension, etc.) an asset
