Nurse Practitioner

Etobicoke Long Term Care Facility

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted July 1, 2020.

We are looking for a new Nurse Practitioner to join us in our long-term care facility, in Etobicoke where we are currently experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19.

Nurse Practitioner: In this role, you will work collaboratively with the team including physicians, RN’s, RPN’s, PSW’s, and other direct care staff to provide care for residents.

Practically speaking, you will: Provide direction and leadership to RN’s, RPN’s, PSW’s, and other direct care staff in all aspects of resident care, within established legislative standards Create care plans for residents, complete nursing documentation, and assist residents with move-in Diagnose residents, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medication and other treatment Work collaboratively with attending physicians Ensure medication reconciliation occurs as needed Oversee the use of resources (people, supplies, and fiscal) Implement resident-focused programs, policies, and procedures with the Director of Nursing and the Quality Team Liaise with Residents, families and outside agencies as required Respects the Residents’ Bill of Rights The Details: This is a full-time, permanent position offering an annual salary, and you’ll be provided with the necessary PPE required to keep you safe.

Our facility is located in Etobicoke, and there is free parking provided for staff.

This position will work evenings and every other weekend.

You’ll need to be a licensed Nurse Practitioner to apply for this role, and will need to be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Experience working as a Nurse Practitioner Experience in long-term care, with providing empathetic care for the elderly Experience providing leadership and supervision in any healthcare environment How to Apply: Please complete the online application, which should take only 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
