PSG Sleep Technologist 1 ATRMC (Sleep Lab)


This is a Contract position in Josephine County, OR posted June 11, 2020.

Our Licensed & Registered Polysomnographic Technologist position represents an important step in the continuum of care for patients suffering from a sleep disorder in our community.

The PSG Tech 1 will act as a key member of our sleep care team.

This position will work closely with the sleep specialist providers at APP Pulmonary to understand the root cause of patients sleep issues and implement effective treatment plans.

Our Grants Pass Sleep Lab is a 4-bed lab and has been accredited for 1-year.

Physician and mid-level providers from APP Pulmonary work closely with Sleep Center staff.

We meet 6-times per year to conduct a sleep case review meeting where ideas are shared and heard; we value the team approach where everyone has a voice.

We collaborate with other specialty groups to provide coordinated care for our sleep patients.

We have several career progression opportunities for a PSG I including PSG Tech II and we are currently conducting a clinical research trial using Clinical Sleep Educators, (RPSGTs who are also Credentialed in Clinical Sleep Health, CCSH).

What Youll Do
· Collaborate with providers and leadership to deliver quality diagnostic polysomnograms and PAP titrations for overnight patients.

· Provide individualized patient assessments, care and treatment as part of a coordinated plan with a goal of improving health care quality.

· Perform appropriate screenings and educational assessments as appropriate.

Educate patients on resources available to them.

· Collaborative and capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all members of the sleep care team.

· Critical thinker with a talent for solving routine and complex sleep recording and titration challenges.

· Emotionally intelligent, adept at understanding interpersonal dynamics and able to shift approach to effectively honor the communication needs of the situation.

· Innovative and sees the opportunities to build programs that serve the needs of the patient.

· Autonomous, adaptable, and organized with the ability to arrange a work schedule to meet the needs of the department.

What You Must Have Education
· Associates or bachelors degree is preferable, however certification by a CAAHEP program is acceptable.

· Experience as a Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist Preferred
· Experience working in the medical field as a medical assistant, CNA or equivalent.

· Licensed by the State of Oregon as an RT-S.

· Registered by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists, (RPSGT) or a CRT or RRT with a Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS).
