Virginia Hospital Center is among the 7% of hospital staffs nationwide that achieve the Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, signifying the highest level of recognition in nursing excellence.Utilizing Med/Surg nursing skills, the Registered Nurse-Gastroenterology/Endoscopy is a highly respected member of Virginia Hospital Center’s widely renowned GI department. The GI Registered Nurse collaboratively works with the physician and other team members in all procedure areas of GI/Endoscopy serving both inpatients and outpatients. GI/Endoscopy Nurse will respond to a variety of needs with procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, ERCPs, and PEG placements.A variety of 8-hour and 10-hour shifts are available between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm.Pay & Benefits: Commensurate with experience. The ability to advance within our Professional Development Ladder (Levels 1-5) with your knowledge and expertise. Registered Nurses are entitled to free onsite parking.Responsibilities* Actively participates in working towards the organizational and departmental goals for providing exceptional patient experiences* Collaborates with patient and healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and/or evaluate patient’s plan of care.* Assures quality of care by adhering to industry standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and benchmarks.* Consistently assesses, identifies and addresses patient’s educational needs and barriers to learning.* Maintains safe working environment and patient safety by complying with hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.* Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills to perform all duties required to care for patients.Qualifications* RN Licensure with Reciprocity in the state of Virginia* BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR* Strong Med/Surg experience required. Will provide procedure training.* Telemetry experience preferred.* Excellent collaboration skills to facilitate successful interactions with physicians and team members
