Registered Nurse Medical Oncology

This is a Contract position in Horsham Township, PA posted September 20, 2020.

Position Summary Abington Hematology Oncology is looking for a committed Oncology Registered Nurse, Full time, Monday
– Friday located in Philadelphia and Horsham, PA.

About Abington Hematology Oncology Associates Oncology: Is part of the US Oncology Network, This 8 physician division is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania dedicated to providing compassionate and cutting-edge cancer care and hematologic treatments to all of our patients.

Performs administration of chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.

Some Mixing chemotherapy agents required Assesses patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans, drug reactions and initiates appropriate action.

Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.

Administers all medications using correct medication dosage/amount, route, time and technique.

Programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home.

Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient s chart Patient navigation and authorizations MINIMUM QULALIFICATIONS Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.

Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, preferably in an oncology environment.

Current or pending Oncology certification preferred.

Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is preferred.

Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
