This position is located in Chula Vista, CA.

The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner provides safe therapeutic care in holistic and systemic way to include the assessment and overall management of care for critically ill patients working in collaboration with Intensivist.

Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures in accordance with the nurse practitioner licensure regulations of the state of California, and as delineated in the written Scope of Practice/Protocol for Nurse Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities * Assess patients in the acute care setting, in collaboration with the supervising physician * Assist in acute and chronic care management of patients * Perform history and physical assessments * Perform procedures to include but no limited to intubation, central lines, arterial lines, thoracentesis/paracentesis * Order and manage laboratory and radiographic findings * Prescribe medications * Provide education to patients and families * Participate in conferences and related continuing education * Utilizes evidenced-based standards, guidelines, and protocols Teamwork * Communicate effectively and work independently but in collaboration with others * Demonstrate respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines * Use an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Requirements * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelors in Nursing and Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners.

* Board certified or board eligible in Acute Care * Procedural experience required * Clinical nursing experience three to five years’ clinical nursing experience as an RN in an acute care setting * Certification for advanced practice, BLS, ACLS
