Job DescriptionLicensed Practical Nurse Sign-On Bonus Whispering Pines is now hiring for LPN’s. Position will be working in our new Shreveport, LA facility. Sign-On Bonus of $2000 is available and paid out in 60-days The Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or care for the residents in a designated area of the facility. The Licensed Staff communicates with off-going and arriving shifts of personnel to assure the continuum of quality of care; makes rounds evaluatingthe physical, emotional and social needs of the residents and making sure these needs are being met through the staff assigned to work with each group of residents. The Licensed Staff assesses assigned staff’s ability to provide for each resident’s needs and provides intervention as indicated. The Licensed Staff supervises the care provided by the Nursing Assistants assigned to the unit, providing intervention, education and assignment adjustments as indicated. The Licensed Staff prepares and administers medications and treatments according to procedures; consults with physicians; receives, records and transcribes orders as required; and makes rounds with physicians when necessary. The Licensed Staff reviews residents’ care plans, assures these plans are followed and documents on resident records ensuring that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times and in accordance with the established policies, procedures and standards of CommCare Corporation, and any other tasks or responsibilities assigned. The Licensed Staff participates in the evaluation of the employees working under his/her supervision and in staff meetings and in-services as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING The Licensed Staff must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing currently registered with the State agency for nursing licensure and hold a valid nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana. The Licensed Staff must possess the following skills: Ability to demonstrate leadership and managerial skills; Ability and desire towork with geriatric residents and their current and prospective needs; Ability to organize, plan and supervise care and the Nursing Assistants assigned to work a designated unit and shift. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Ability to demonstrate good emotional, mental and physical health, having sound judgment and high professional standards; Courtesy in working with residents, families and employees. Ability and willingness to be in facility ready to begin assigned duties on time. Ability and willingness to be in the facility during weekdays as well as weekend hours. Ability and willingness to work preferred shifts as scheduled and assist on other shifts as needed to assure adequate staffing to meet the needs of each resident. Ability to evaluate the geriatric resident’s needs and provide intervention timely to assure each resident’s needs are met. Ability to evaluate nursing staff needs and provide staff education timely to provide quality care. Ability to function as a cooperative team member with each member of the Nursing Department and other departments. Ability to follow and supervise assigned staff to assure the CommCare policies and procedures are followed and upheld. Ability to manage and supervise the assigned unit in a productive, timely manner. Has not been excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs. Maintains eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs throughout employment. Capable of providing emergency care as needed for any resident in the facility. Maintains a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times. Keeps personal appearance appropriate for resident care. Ability and willingness to function appropriately in a disaster or evacuation of the facility. Participate in pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening.
